FDP Conference Cum Reunion - 2020: Enhancing the Practice of Management Education
Faculty Development Programme (FDP) of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, India aims at the professional development of faculty members of institutions of management education. It is a residential programme that provides rigorous training in general management principles, pedagogical techniques (including case method), cutting-edge research methods and advanced topics in specialized areas.
FDP- Alumni: The first FDP was offered in 1979. Over the years, the FDP has developed a strong reputation for excellence in the professional development of management educators. Recently the 41st Batch of participants have successfully completed the programme on 31st August 2019. The FDP Alumni network has more than 900 members, including 85 management teachers from Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Ethiopia. These members have been contributing significantly to the improvement of the quality of management education.
Purpose of FDP Conference cum Reunion- FDP- Alumni have been requesting for academic re-union at IIMA. This proposed conference will provide a platform for FDP-Alumni to network with each other and share their research findings/on-going research work/Case-Writings/knowledge contribution in the different aspects of Management research. It will be an academic reunion and knowledge sharing platform for a large group of alumni of this programme.
Who Can Participate-
- Those who have completed Faculty Development Programme from IIM Ahmedabad can contribute their original research work, cases and pedagogical innovation to this conference.
- Those who have attended Specialized FDP or Module-1 or Module-2 in the Faculty Development Programme in FDPs in the past are also eligible to participate in the conference.
- Participants who will attend the 42nd FDP in 2020 will be eligible to participate in the conference.
- Non-FDP participants will also be eligible to participate on the condition that at least one co-author of their research papers and cases must satisfy the above said conditions.
Special Refresher Sessions- The Conference provides the unique opportunity for the participants to attend some refresher sessions to be conducted by IIMA faculty members on pedagogy, case-writing and research methods. The sessions will no doubt bring back fond memories of the IIMA sessions and also reinforce key learnings of IIMA FDP.
