Call for Entry 2024-25<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Brij -Disa Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence,  Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Operational Research Society of India, Ahmedabad Chapter  plans to continue its industrywide competition to encourage, recognize and reward outstanding application of Operations Research, Management Science and Analytics in Practice in India.<\/strong> Made in line with Franz Edelman Award of INFORMS, USA the objective of the award is to call out, recognize and reward outstanding applications in practice in India.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prize\/award will be provided to the client organization and not to individuals<\/strong>. The authors of the prize winning work will be recognized with a certificate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rules for entry<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. The prize is for application and practice and not for theory or methodology<\/strong>. So one work having significant impact in financial terms on policy changes will have higher chance of winning than one that discusses methodology with little relevance to practice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The work must be done in India by any organization located in India<\/strong>. MNCs located in India can enter the contest provided the work was done primarily in India and the first OR lead author and the corresponding author should be from India.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The name of the client organization where work was done needs to be disclosed. Anonymous names of the company will not be  eligible.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. By entering the competition, the organization will have to submit a declaration that they will submit a technical paper of about 8000 words by October 2024<\/strong>. The paper will be published in a technical journal like OPSEARCH (in line with IJAA(OPSEARCH). In addition, the client organization will provide a letter from senior management, preferably a board member or CE0\/CXO that the work has been really implemented in practice making significant financial impact. The impact letter will be part of the paper. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Panel of judges\/verifiers\/ or their representatives will contact the client to verify the claims of the authors to select the finalists. This will happen for a short period of one week to 10 days.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. The company will have to deliver a 30 minutes\u2019 presentation of the work in the month of January 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. The paper after proper peer review will appear in a peer reviewed refereed journal<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. A maximum of six contributions\/cases will be selected as finalists and only one will be declared as winner.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Jury<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Jury will be top researchers\/academicians involved in practice from corporate India and academia. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Prasad, Distinguished Engineer \/ Chief Data Scientist, IBM India will chair the Competition for 2014-15. Prof. Goutam Dutta, Emeritus Professor, IIMA will be the Editor of Special Issues and overall Co-Ordinator of this event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Entry Procedure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Kindly send two\/three pages or 1500 words summary of what you have done in your organization indicating the problem, the OR\/MS\/ Analytics methodology used, how the problem was solved and the impact of the work in financial terms and policy changes. Please also provide the name email-ID of all authors and name email_ID and mobile number of senior management representative of the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Kindly send the 1500-word summary by email to August, 2024 to<\/p>\n\n\n\n
