Dr. Ravi Vijayaraghavan is a Senior Vice President at Flipkart where he leads the Analytics and Applied Sciences organization. In his role as the Chief Analytics Officer for Flipkart, he has built a team that is a strong, strategic partnership function across Flipkart. This team is responsible for leveraging data, analytics
and science to drive decision-making and create business impact across all areas of Flipkart including Business Growth, Marketing, Customer Growth and Experience, Pricing, Assortment, Quality, Supply Chain, Product/Tech and Strategy.
Prior to joining Flipkart, Ravi was the Chief Data Scientist and Global Head of the Analytics and Data Sciences Organization at 7.ai – a silicon-valley based company that builds machine learning and artificial intelligence driven software products for customer service. At 7.ai, Ravi and his team were responsible for invention, development, implementation, and optimization of all analytics and machine learning driven solutions that form the core of 7's product offerings. These products and solutions leverage machine learning to enable a more intuitive customer care experience for consumers through online and offline channels.
Before joining 7, Ravi held a variety of leadership roles at Ford Motor Company. His contributions were in the applications of computing, data science and analytics to the design and optimization of business and engineering systems. He was the recipient of a Henry Ford Technology Award – the highest technical recognition at Ford. Ravi was also a vice president and part of the executive leadership team of Mu Sigma Inc., a Chicago/Bangalore based pure-play analytical services company.
Ravi was nominated to be among the 10 most influential analytics leaders in India in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 by Analytics India Magazine.
Ravi has 30+ patent filings, many peer-reviewed publications and has presented as invited/keynote speaker at several international conferences. Ravi holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology - Madras, a PhD from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MBA from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan – Ann Arbor

Abhinay Choudhari is a Co-founder of Bigbasket.com. During the initial few years, he handled Customer Experience at BigBasket.com. Prior to this, Abhinay worked with Infosys Consulting & iGATE Consulting in the Retail, CPG & Logistics Vertical in UK, US & Europe. The IIM Ahmedabad alumnus, founded Stylecountry.com in 1999 and prior to that worked with Mitsubishi Corporation. Abhinay has been awarded Young Alumni Achiever’s award for 2015 in “Entrepreneur” Category by IIM Ahmedabad. BigBasket was awarded the Best Startup of the year in 2014 by Bangalore Management Association and Abhinay as a co-founder was felicitated as one of the "Heroes of Bangalore" Big Basket was adjudged winner for the “e-Retail Store of the Year” in 2015 by Franchise India BigBasket was awarded as Consumer Internet Company of the Year in the VCCircle Awards 2016. The Forrester India Customer Experience Index 2016 rated BigBasket as the best Digital Companies when it comes to customer experience.
Suraj is one of the Co-founders of Delhivery, currently looking at setting up and scaling new businesses. Before this, he was the Chief People Officer at Delhivery. As the CPO, Suraj managed Recruitment, Compensation, Benefits, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations, and People Development efforts for Delhivery’s workforce of over 40000 people. Prior to Delhivery, Suraj worked at Bain & Company across the Boston and New Delhi offices as a consultant. He has 5 years of experience across the Private Equity, Healthcare and Logistics sectors, consulting for clients such as Fortis, NTPC, Modi Group, and Actis. He has also been a volunteer with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Dr. Martin Savelsbergh is a logistics and optimization specialist with over 30 years of experience in mathematical modeling, operations research, optimization methods, algorithm design, performance analysis, transport, supply chain management, and production planning. He has published over 200 research papers in many of the top operations research and optimization journals and has supervised more than 30 Ph.D. students. Martin has a track record of creating innovative techniques for solving large-scale optimization problems in a variety of areas, ranging from service network design, to last-mile and crowdsourced delivery, to ridesharing. Martin has held academic positions in the U.S., Europe, and Australia.
Dr. Lei Zhao is an associate professor and the director of the Operations & Services Research (TOpS) Laboratory in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University.
His research focuses on stochastic optimization methodologies and their applications in supply chain risk management, logistics and transportation management (esp. urban delivery in megacities), and omni-channel retailing & logistics. His research has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MoST) as well as industry collaborators such as Sinoair, Sinopec, COSCO Shipping Technology, Huawei, Alibaba, Meituan, IBM China Research Lab, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, General Mills, etc.
He has long-term research collaborations with world-class researchers, and has publications in ANOR, COR, EJOR, MSOM, OR Spectrum, TRB, TRC, TRE, and TS, etc. He has served as the Secretary of INFORMS TSL Society and the AE of IJOC, and currently serves as the AE of TS.
As Chief Executive Officer, Samay leads our strategic direction globally and works alongside our visionary customers to imagine and create the future of fulfillment. His passion for robots and AI began while still a student at BITS (Pilani), India where he drew notice as part of a team that created AcYut, one of India’s first indigenous humanoid robots.
Samay and teammate Akash Gupta began competing in robotics competitions across the globe, winning many honors including Gold Medalists at the renowned ROBOlympics. Together, Samay and Akash decided to direct their AI and Robotics expertise toward “solving a big enough problem.” They chose fulfillment, bootstrapping GreyOrange with investments from friends and family.
Today GreyOrange is a global leader in fulfillment, with customers, employees and investors around the world. Samay has shared his insights as a keynote speaker at prominent technology conferences around the world and was named to MIT Technology Review’s global list of “35 Innovators under 35.” Samay leads GreyOrange from its US headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
Rohit leads three business verticals at Grofers namely Express Stores, F&V, and the Hyperlocal MarketPlace. His role is all about building businesses that will make Grofers a habit for the urban Indian and the most loved retailer in India. He joined Grofers in 2019 and was heading the end-to-end Supply Chain Operations for Grofers comprising of Fulfillment Centres, Last Mile Operations & Supply Planning.
Over the last 19 years of his professional experience, Rohit has worked with organizations like GE, HP, Flipkart and OneAssist before joining Grofers as the Supply Chain head. In his previous stint at Flipkart, Rohit was leading the Process Innovation function for both continuous improvement and breakthroughs and was actively involved in building systems and processes leading to exponential growth. He has also been involved in strategic initiatives of HP Consumer Strategic Center and managing Consumer Service Experiences across NA, EMEA and APJ regions at Hewlett-Packard.
He is a Post Graduate in Business Administration from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad and has also pursued a course on Strategic Thinking and Implementation from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad
Kai Furmans is a professor for Logistics and Material Handling Systems at the KIT since 2003 and head of the Institute of Material Handling Systems and Logistics since 2005. He received an offer for a similar position at the University of Dresden in 2008, but decided to stay in Karlsruhe. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and a habilitation with a venia legendi for logistics.
His research interest is the coordination of decentralized activities in logistics systems. On one side, this is reflected in a series of research projects, where mechatronic systems for material handling systems are developed towards true Plug & Work Systems. On the other hand, the research is focused on transportation, warehousing and value-adding services which are decentrally implemented and are geographically spread out. Methods of research are either experimental (for the mechatronic part) or mathematical stochastic and optimisation models.
For his Ph.D. thesis about batch-processing and collecting systems, which play a fundamental role in understanding efficiency and performance of service systems in transportation and logistics one of his first supervised Ph.D. candidates Marc Schleyer received the Science Award in Logistics by the BVL, which is also a prize for the institution where the candidate performed his research.
This research direction was inspired by his professional experience in setting up and running of distribution systems on a continental scale.
He is currently supervising the research projects of 15 Ph.D. candidates and two postdocs (at university and at research centre for information technologies FZI). Since 2003, he has successfully supervised six doctoral candidates. All candidates listed have successfully presented their research work on international conferences. After receiving their degree, three excellent researchers where encouraged and supported to set up their own research groups, which focus on risk management for supply chains, decentralized material handling systems and mechanical material handling systems.
